When the cold and wind kick in, our lips can get sore and cracked. Only a lip balm can get those lips back in perfect condition! The thing is, it is not an easy task to find a good quality vegan lip balm. Most mainstream lip balms contain beeswax and ingredients that have been tested on animals. If you are looking for organic and animal-testing free lip balm, even the common organic brands that have a range of vegan products use beeswax in their balms.
But don’t worry, we’ll tell you where you can get a good quality and effective vegan lip balm:

  • Lush sells 3 types of vegan lip balm: Kiss, None of your beeswax and Latte (See their website).
  • Fair squared lip balm, available online at Plant Goodness 24 (See their website).
  • Yaoh lip balms, available online at Yaoh (See their website).

If you are into DIY, make your own lip balm!

You can make a lip balm with just coconut fat, a few drops of essential oil of your choice, and a tsp of good quality omega 3 oil, such as flaxseed oil.

Melt the coconut in a saucepan and add the other ingredients until you get a smooth consistency. Transfer into a small container. You know you have the perfect lip balm when the mixture is not too solid but not creamy either. If too creamy, add more melted coconut fat, if too solid, add more flaxseed oil. The lip balm should do the job for 3 months or so.
